Urine Infection Samples
If you feel you may have a urine infection and are aged between 16-64 with no complicating factors, you can visit your local pharmacy as part of the Pharmacy First Scheme. If you do not qualify for the pharmacy first scheme, a sample must be brought to the surgery in a specimen bottle and a form needs to be completed by 10.30am, this will then be sent to the lab for testing.
Any samples after 10.30am may not be checked and you may be asked to supply another sample.

Some samples may have to await result from the hospital before any medication can be issued.
The surgery does not accept samples after 12pm on a Friday, or the last day of the week in the case of a Bank Holiday, as the sample will not be sent off to the lab until Monday. Please bare this in mind when deciding when to hand in your sample.
